Lorn & Berti
This is The sheriff of Nottingham he is one year old. His Sire is Remington Rocking Robin and his Dam is Brora Alexia. He is a very quiet dog and loves nothing more than jumping in to the sea and running on the beach. My neighbour Lauren shows him for me and brings him to the ringcraft classes’ when I’m working. I hope to show Bertie more in the future.

Eoin has started his career well, he has won his Junior Champion title.
We are looking forward to a promising career both here and in the UK with him. He is such a super show man and he has many admirers across various breeds and more importantly he is a lovely character to live with.

Polar at SWCC ringcraft classes
Breeders: Mr. D & Mrs. J Pritchard “Santaviga Samoyeds”
Pedigree Name: Santaviga Dreaming Of Destiny
Pet Name: Polar
Polar is my second Samoyed male, he is the first Samoyed to arrive into Ireland to have his pedigree, he is sired by “Silvertips Destin to Dazzle Santaviga” who comes all the way from New Zealand and has Ch Australian breeding in his blood. Polar also has American CH and Canadian CH lines on his Dam side. He has all the potential to become a fantastic show dog, and has a bright future ahead of him. I have held off showing him until I felt the time was right for him to go into the ring. His first show will be the Irish Samoyed Breed Championship show where he will be judged by Mr Ian Wilson. Fingers crossed he will do well in Minor Puppy!!
My main goals for the year are to gain his JW title and also try and qualify him for Crufts 2009 at the upcoming Belfast Championship show later on this year.

WE FELL IN LOVE WITH THE IRISH WATER SPANIEL ABOUT A YEAR AGO.
SINCE THEN WE HAVE PUT A LOT OF TIME AND EFFORT INTO RESEARCHING THE BREED TO DETERMINE IF IT WAS THE DOG FOR US?
THE ANSWER WAS A DEFINITE YES. WE LOVE THEIR TEMPERMENT, SENSE OF HUMOUR, LOYALTY, APPEARANCE AND MOST OF ALL THEIR PLAYFULNESS. AS A BREED THEY ARE KNOWN AS THE CLOWNS OF THE DOG WORLD! THE COAT WILL BE A NEW CHALLENGE TO US AND WILL TAKE A LOT MORE TIME TO PREPARE FOR A SHOW THAN WE ARE USED TO. WISH US LUCK!!
WE CONTACTED A FEW DIFFERENT BREEDERS ABOUT LITTERS THEY HAD THIS YEAR. OUT OF FIVE LITTERS WE MANAGED TO NARROW IT DOWN TO ONE AND WENT TO THE UK IN SEPTEMBER TO HAVE A LOOK AND, FOUND WHAT WE WERE SEARCHING FOR.
WE ARE DELIGHTED TO ANNOUNCE THAT WE BROUGHT A LITTLE DOG PUPPY HOME WITH US. HIS NAME IS MARLEY AND HE IS TEN WEEKS OLD NOW AND QUITE THE HANDFUL. HIS FATHER IS AN AMERICAN AND UK SHOW CHAMPION SO; HE IS BRINGING SOME NEW BLOOD INTO THE COUNTRY. HIS MOTHER IS NOT SHOWN BUT IS A VERY NICE BITCH. HE HAS SETTLED IN WITH US AND HAS BECOME PART OF THE FAMILY. WE ARE GETTING PLENTY OF “DOG SITTING” OFFERS FROM HIS DEVOTED FAN CLUB
WE WOULD LIKE TO TAKE THIS OPPORTUNITY TO SAY THANK YOU TO EVERYBODY AT SWCC FOR THEIR HELP AND ADVICE. PLENTY MORE TO COME WE HOPE! IN PARTICULAR WE WOULD LIKE TO THANK JIMMY HOGAN FOR ALL HIS HELP AND, FOR LETTING US “PICK HIS BRAIN” ON MORE THAN ONE OCCASION. WE WOULD ALSO LIKE TO EXPRESS OUR THANKS TO ALL OUR FRIENDS ACROSS THE WATER.
WE WILL KEEP YOU INFORMED OF HOW MARLEY DOES. HIS FIRST SHOW WILL PROBABLY BE IN MARCH 08, ALL GOING WELL.

2007 Ballinvounig Bonne Chance
(Cwizzle)

Gillian. P.R. From Feb. Newsletter.
Several of our members had puppies this year (or to precise, their bitches had puppies!) Eileen’s Cozie had an enormous litter of ten Wheaten terrier pups, all of great quality. One little one, Cwizzle, has remained at home to carry the Ballinvounig torch on to the show ring. Watch this space…
Sadly, my own Molly (pug), following a false pregnancy last year, developed a bad pyometra this year, and had to be neutered. I am only glad that she survived the emergency (a friend’s pug was not so lucky). My hope now all rests on her daughter, Ellie, if I am to breed the elusive World’s Greatest Pug!
Other members also produced nice litters, but unless they give me permission, I won’t mention them in the newsletter. So, please let me know how your dogs are doing, both as pets and as show dogs, and I’ll give them a line or two in the next edition. I am sure that all our members enjoy hearing how things canine are going for their fellow members. Meanwhile, enjoy your spring – hopefully we’ll see some of you at our Ringcraft classes in June and at our Show in September.
