CLASS DEFINITIONS
Puppy Class if for dogs over six and under twelve calendar months of age on the day of the Show computed from and inclusive of the date of its birth.
Junior Class is for dogs over nine and under eighteen calendar months of age on the day of the Show, computed from and inclusive of its date of birth.
Intermediate Class is for dogs between fifteen and twenty four calendar months of age on the day of the Show, computed from and inclusive of its date of birth.
Open Class is for all dogs over fifteen months of age on the day of the Show.
Veteran Class is for dogs over eight years of age on the day of the Show computed from and inclusive of the date of its birth.
Puppy Stakes is confined to dogs of six months and under nine calendar months of age on the day of the Show computed from and inclusive of the date of its birth.
Junior Stakes is confined to dogs of nine months and under eighteen calendar months of age on day
Brace Stakes is for two exhibits of the same or different sexes of the same breed, belonging to the same person, each exhibit having been entered in a breed class.
Champion Stakes confined to Certified Champions; winners of this Stakes will not compete for B.I.S.

OBEDIENCE CLASS DEFINITIONS
Beginners Obedience Class: confined to dogs and handlers which have not won 3 or more first prizes in any Obedience Test.
Novice Obedience Class: Confined to dogs which have not been awarded (a) a Green Star in any Obedience Test or (b) four first prizes or more in any Obedience Test other than Beginners.
Graduate Obedience: Confined to dogs which have not been awarded (a) a Green Star in any Obedience Test or (b) four first prizes or more in any obedience Test with the exception of
Beginners and/or Novice
Limit Obedience: Confined to dogs which have not been awarded (a) a Green Star in any Obedience Test or (b) four first prizes in any Obedience Test with the exception of Beginners and/or Novice and/or Graduate Classes.
Open Obedience: Open to any dog of any breed or variety.
AGILITY GRADING SYSTEM
Grade 1. For owners, handlers or dogs which have not gained a first place in an Agility Class or three first places in Jumping Classes at IKC licensed Agility Shows. N.B. Owners, handlers or dogs previously qualified out of Grade 1 are not eligible for this class
Grade 2. For owners, handlers or dogs which have qualified out of Grade 1 but have not gained a first place in an Agility Class or three first places in Jumping Classes at Grade 2 at IKC licensed Agility Shows, or elected to progress on points from Grade 1. N.B. Owners, handlers or dogs previously qualified out of Grade 1 are not eligible for this class
Grade 3. Open to dogs which are not eligible for Grade 1 or 2 or have elected to progress on points from Grade 2 at IKC licensed Agility Shows and dogs which are not eligible for Grade 4, 5, 6, or 7.
Grade 4. Open to dogs which have gained a first place in an Agility Class or three first places in Jumping Classes at Grade 3 or elected to progress on points from Grade 3 at IKC licensed Agility Shows and dogs which are not eligible for Grade 3, 5, 6 or 7
Grade 5. Open to dogs which have gained a first place in an Agility Class or three first places in Jumping Classes at Grade 4 or elected to progress on points from Grade 4 at IKC licensed Agility Shows and dogs which are not eligible for Grade 3, 4 , 6 or 7.
Grade 6. Open to dogs which have gained a first place in an Agility Class or three first places in Jumping Classes at Grade 5 or elected to progress on points from Grade 5 at IKC licensed Agility Shows and dogs which are not eligible for Grade 3, 4, 5, or 7.
Grade 7. Open to dogs which have gained a minimum of four first places at Grade 6 at IKC licensed Agility Shows. Two first places must be gained in Agility (not Jumping) Classes.
JUNIOR DIPLOMA AWARD
For the Junior Diploma Award,
It is proposed that all exhibits may compete at both
Open Shows and Championship Shows.
Providing that they are between the age of 6 and 18 months on the day of the show, and win a total of 12 Junior Diploma points for the J.D. Title in the following manner.
Open Shows:
(1) They are placed 1st in any class, whether for their Breed if scheduled.
Or in any other class within their Group i.e. A.V.Toy etc. or any mixed breed class within their group at Open Show level.
Only one class win, per show gaining 1 point.
A bonus of 2 points will be awarded if the exhibit wins its Relevant Group on one occasion.
(2) Championship Shows: 2 class wins at Championship Shows under 18 months must also be attained, each class win gains 2 points.
The Judge/s must sign all awards on the day, giving details of the show and Class/Group won
Note Only one class win (1 point Open Show) (2 Points CH. Show) and(One Open Show Group win, 2 points) per show, will count in the total. Multiple wins at one show will not count. (I.K.C.)

SHOW REGULATIONS
1. The show will be held in the Arklow Coral Leisure Centre in Arklow Town just off the by-pass (N11)
2. (a) Judging Times: Agility 10.00am. Obedience 11.00am, Junior Handling 11.30am. Sharp.
3. All breed classes 12.00 noon. Puppy Stakes, Brace, Veteran & Champion Stakes, before Best In Show
4. .Junior Stakes after Best In Show.
(b) Entry Fee - €7.00 for the first dog, this includes Obedience - €3.00 for each additional dog or class in the same ownership.
(c) Champion Stakes €5.00 Puppy Stakes €5.00. Junior Stakes €5.00 Veteran €5.00 Brace Stakes €5.00.
Agility €3.00 per dog per class in same ownership.
Junior Handling - €3.00. Must also enter their breed class.
(d) No self Sterling Conversion.
(e) Entries for Puppy, Junior and Brace Stakes, & Junior handling must also be entered in their Breed Class.
Entries to be sent to the Show Sec. Theresa Power 12 Main Street, Arklow Co. Wicklow. Cheques or postal orders to be made out to South Wicklow Canine Club. Entries will be received up to and including Friday 30 April.
Enter On Line by Monday 11th. May . NO LATE ENTRIES ACCEPTED.
(f) Ring numbers to be collected on the day of the Show.
(g) Catalogues will be available on the day of the Show €4.00 Prepaid €3.00
(g) Car Park Exhibitors are warned to secure their cars and belongings. The promoting bodies will not be responsible for any loss or damage whether arising from accident or any other cause what so ever.
2. The Committee reserve the right to reject any entry, advert or other insertion in the Catalogue.
Ineligible Entries. A transfer of an incorrect entry as to the sex or breed is allowed if reported to the Secretary’s Office prior to commencement of Judging. A dog entered in a class for which it is not eligible may be transferred to the appropriate age class if applicable in that breed. Or a printing error. No transfers allowed otherwise, once the catalogue is printed.
3. Registrations: All dogs entered for competitions at this show must be registered at the
Irish Kennel Club Limited, Fottrell House, Harold’s Cross Bridge, Dublin 6W.
5. (a)No claim will be considered in the event of an exhibit being late for its class. (b) No persons will be allowed into the judging ring except the Judge, Show Officials, or an Exhibitor taking a dog in for adjudication. (c) The exhibit number of each dog must be clearly displayed by its handler. (d) During the exhibition of dogs the judge officiating will not allow under any circumstances any form of distraction by ringsiders and will disqualify an exhibit which is being assisted in its performance by any person other than the handler. (e) The Club will not be responsible for the exhibition of any exhibit in the ring or otherwise.
6. In the event of any appointed Judge failing to keep his/her appointment, the Committee reserve the right to appoint another Judge or Judges.
(a) The Committee reserve the right to alter the proposed order of judging if this should become necessary.
(b) All announcements appearing in the “Evening Herald” prior to the closing of entries or in reference to any alterations made to the schedule or in these Regulations shall be deemed sufficient notice there of.
7. The Catalogue will be compiled from the entry forms and while every effort will be made to have the forms correctly interpreted, the committee cannot accept any responsibility for mistakes, which may bring exhibitors within the preview of the IKC Ltd., Rule 15, Section 1, or for clerical errors that may occur during compilation.
8. The Promoting Body and the Arklow Coral Leisure Centre will not be responsible for any loss or damage sustained through accident by exhibits, exhibitors, or other persons attending the Show.
9. INTERPRETATION; The Promoting Body shall be the Show Committee with in the meaning of The I.K.C. rules, and all disputes, if any, shall be dealt with by the Committee. Parties to any dispute shall have the right to appeal to The Irish Kennel Club Ltd.
10. It is an offence under IKC rules not to clean up after your dogs also exhibitors must dispose of all litter, bins are provided. There is a €50 fine. This will be enforced.
The Committee will not be exhibiting their dogs at the show.
